Since Banished From The Universe first appeared in April 2009 (started by An Emerald City to release their own debut album Circa Scaria) it has slowly but elegantly grown its brood. With friends and allies jumping on board to release a series of sonically powerful albums, it now boasts a stable of artists including AN EMERALD CITY, RACKETS, DICTAPHONE BLUES, JAMES DUNCAN, MOUNTAINEATER, THE PYRAMID SCHEME, ALIZARIN LIZARD, SUN AND THE WOLF, BOND STREET BRIDGE, STRANGE FORCES, THE FISH and MARGARET.
To celebrate this joyous and polygamous 4 and a 1/2 year marriage we are giving away a FREE DOWNLOAD of our compilation album M I X T A P E with a song from each of our artists and some extra tracks from friends. Best played on headphones whilst meandering through the streets of a town near you.

Five years in the brewing, Dunedin’s finest sonic trio release their highly anticipated debut album in October. Today we release the first single LORD OF SUMO (track 1 on our compilation MIXTAPE, and free to own when you download it). Mountaineater will be touring New Zealand in October in support of the album.
BOND STREET BRIDGE
This year we are very excited and privileged to release another Bond Street Bridge album on October 11th called ‘The Explorers Club Antarctica’. You can download the first single Great God This Is An Awful Place right here . Bond Street Bridge will be doing an extensive New Zealand tour in October to support the release.
Berlin-based mistress of avant garde and atmospheria Margaret was brought up under a mountain range in rural New Zealand. Her first recording was a message on cassette tape at age 7 that was buried as a time capsule. Margaret releases her debut album in late 2013. You can download two free tracks ‘All Blacks’ and ‘Lola’ over at her bandcamp page.
Melbourne’s finest are now sadly on an unidentifiably long hiatus, but The Fish will semi-posthumously release their one and only EP ‘Life Matters’ later this year. It’s music for love-making of the highest order and a lo-fi classic of epic proportions. Sadly no tour, but if the mood is right a petition will be started for a reunion show somewhere deep and dark in Melbourne’s backstreets.

Lots of Love, from Banished From The Universe.
